Pilates Class at Pam’s Home Studio
Classes start promptly at their scheduled time. Please be on time or a bit early to your Pilates class. Enter through the garage — the door will be open 5 minutes before class, and will close after the last student arrives. Come relax in the studio waiting area before class. There is a bathroom for your convenience. Please remove your shoes and leave them in the waiting are along with your keys, coats and such.
Please bring a water bottle and towel.
No yoga mat needed.
Please call ahead if you are late:
What to Wear
You will feel most comfortable at Pilates class in form fitting wick-away shorts, capri pants or long pants. Baggy shorts, while comfortable for the warmup breathing exercises, may feel a little revealing as the Pilates exercises begin.
What to Eat/Drink
Before: Don’t be too full or too hungry as you enter Pilates class. It’s best to eat at least 45 minutes before class if you must eat.
During: Bring a water bottle to sip on during class and a towel if you tend to sweat a bit — which you might!
After: Have a healthy snack waiting for yourself after Pilates class, you will feel hungry. Raw almonds, or a meal of rice and veggies would be perfect.
The Pilates with Pam Workout
You will begin with a warm up and move into the exercises. While this is a Pilates class, you will also do a range of movements and exercises centered around core strengthening, overall coordination, stability, mobility, balance and stretching. Pam believes in shaking things up. You’ll never attend the same class twice! Your body and mind will become stronger with each class.
Pilates Equipment
You don’t need to bring anything (not even a yoga mat) to Pilates class at Pam’s studio. I do suggest you bring a towel and water. You will use gliders, rollers, weighted balls, resistance bands, Pilates rings and other equipment during your Pilates session. Volunteer to spritz down some of the equipment after class to keep everyone healthy. :)
